Valerie polished her stage presence
by applying her training, background and skills to the wide
spectrum of talents required for concerts, where she had the
opportunity to display her own vocal styles as well as her
directing ability and musical accompaniment training. Garnering
the premiering role in Would You Be Ready, an ethnic musical
written and directed by Rosetta Dear that entertained audiences
for six months, further enhanced that development.
Valeries phenomenal stage presence together with her
extraordinary sound enhances the listening experience of her
audiences, enabling them to not only hear but feel the emotion in
the music, whether it be R&B, Jazz, Soul or Gospel.
This stellar vocalist is also an accomplished musician, playing
the acoustic piano, keyboard, organ, drums and flute. She is also
a poet/lyricist who has won numerous awards for her poetry/lyrics.
She has written for numerous artists on a variety of labels, and
her lyrics are heard worldwide. In August 2001, Valerie was
inducted into the International Society of Poets in Washington, DC
for her epic poem The Oddity.
Valerie has just completed her first solo project and is working
on new material for the next project. She performs regularly in
several major venues.
